Just to throw my .02 cents in..
I agree. It's great to see the strides that have been made in porting Arch to Windows. Ultimately, I think we do want a single Windows port. Having 3 versions with essentially the same features will only lead to user confusion. But I don't think we need to pick one right away and toss the others.
Right. But IMHO is less a problem to depend on NTFS than any other software package. Most Windows software developers I know use Win2k anyway. The rest uses XP. Only one of them has Cygwin installed (and only because I've forced him to..). Most of the others haven't even heared about Cygwin (sad, but true).
I'd bet this goes for most Windows-Developers. -- Marc Recht
