I'd like it better if 'tla archives' just replaced the password with
'*password*' for example. The passwords would still be embedded in the
URLs in ~/.arch-params/=locations/. You might also want to implement a
--password option to {make,register}-archive, which would read the
password from stdin without echoing, so it doesn't show up on the
command line either.
