Gnus/5.1006 (Gnus v5.10.6) XEmacs/21.4 (Portable Code, linux) |
When committing I get the message:
"tree has no patch log for version"
(usually immediately after tagging and doing set-tree-version).
- What is the canonical way to detect this situation?
- What is the canonical way to handle it (I've been using join-branch)?
Using commit to detect the missing log and join-branch to fixup the
tree has worked so far for me, but now I'm writing a script (actually,
an XEmacs function[1]) to deal with this, and I wanna do it "right".
Footnotes:
[1] My stuff probably could be GNU-ified with little trouble, but it
seems like what I've currently got is well behind what other people
already have published, except that "it works for me".

ask what your business can "do for" free software.
