These two statements are contradictory. The first one is accurate
(assuming your NFS server is correctly implemented - which it most
likely isn't if it's NFSv2 [there exist maybe two or three correct
implementations, not including old versions of linux], and might not
be if it's NFSv3 [there exist maybe two or three broken
implementations, including old versions of linux]).
