Hello and Greetings to all!

I have a bit of good news for all of you. Arch 1.2.1rc1 (release candidate
1) is now available via ftp and http. I would like to thank everyone for
pitching in and making this release possible.

There are all sorts of goodies in this release, but here are a few
high points:

  * A new libneon to solve a remote buffer overflow (yours truly)

  * Bug fixes, typos, code cleanups (Numerous people,
    special mention goes to Aaron Bentley)

  * Spaces in filenames now supported (Christian Thaeter)

  * Underscores now allowed in email addresses (Jean Helou)

Arch 1.2.1rc1 is a release candidate, and as such is not intended for
non-production work. If you are using arch in a production environment,
wait for the full arch 1.2.1 release.

Arch 1.2.1rc1 can be retrieved via the following methods:

   HTTP: http://release.gnuarch.org/tla-1.2/1.2.1/tla-1.2.1rc1.tar.bz2
         http://release.gnuarch.org/tla-1.2/1.2.1/tla-1.2.1rc1.tar.bz2.sig

   FTP:  ftp://gnuarch.org/releases/tla-1.2/1.2.1/tla-1.2.1rc1.tar.bz2
         ftp://gnuarch.org/releases/tla-1.2/1.2.1/tla-1.2.1rc1.tar.bz2.sig

As always, perform the following steps:

mkdir src
cd src
tar xvfj ~/tla-1.2.1rc1.tar.bz2
cd tla-1.2.1rc1/src
mkdir =build
cd =build
../configure
make (if using *bsd, you may have to run gmake instead)
make test (if using *bsd, you may have to run gmake instead)
cp tla/tla/tla /to-a/directory/in/your/path

One quick word about the "make test" line. This make target runs a number
of test scripts that verify that arch works sanely. If make succeeds,
congratulations; arch will work on your machine. If make fails, then arch
does not work on your system. If "make test" fails on your machine, post
to the list with any information that you may think is pertinant.

Regards,
James
