I wanted to post it here first just to make sure it doesn't step on
anyone else's foot.

make, make check, and make install seem to work fine for me. In fact
without this change I couldn't compile at all since I have been using
IBM's javac, and the old build scripts erronously assumed that compilers
named 'javac' used rt.jar, which isn't true.

I'm going to tweak these a little more later, probably.
