The following fonts in X11 are non-free:
font-bh-ttf
font-ibm-type1
font-misc-meltho

The COPYING file for font-bh-ttf says:

The font-misc-meltho package is under the same license (with a few 
modifications to remove the name
of Bigelow & Holmes, etc.)

The font-ibm-type1 package is under the following license:

"IBM Courier - Copyright (c) IBM Corporation 1990, 1991

You are hereby granted permission under the terms of the IBM/MIT X Consortium
Courier Typefont agreement to execute, reproduce, distribute, display, market,
sell and otherwise transfer copies of the IBM Courier font to third parties.

The font is provided "AS IS" without charge.  NO WARRANTIES OR INDEMNIFICATION
ARE GIVEN, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING, BUT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED

It does not mention modification and according to [1] IBM refused to change the 
license so it seems
not allowing modification was their intent.

Also, since these fonts are non-free shouldn't all word processors listing any 
of these fonts as an
option in the list of fonts be modified to not mention these non-free fonts?
