The exclusive rights granted by copyright law are fine-grained. There is no basis in copyright law for the ludicrous claim that an author who grants permission to copy and distribute his work verbatim has perforce granted permission to copy and distribute that work as part of a collective work. This is merely your usual lying, twisting, and spinning to avoid the obvious fact that the GPL works exactly as its authors intended it to.
