I have tracked this down. I was using epscszz mode, but the feta fonts
are built in ljfour mode, even if something else is specified in
/etc/texmf/mktex.cnf.
Does this count as a bug? Something in lily has changed which has
broken my build to expose this.
Surely the build process should use mktextfm without specifying the
mode so that the system default is used?
