how to make a free version of a non free distro

Regarding the stall of BLAG and the low support for Dyne:bolic, it has 
come to my mind that documentation for other developers interested in 
hacking for freedom be published on FSFs' web sites. The information 
should be made available to introduce people (especially students) that 
want to hack on the distros. We need to show them the process by which 
those distros are made and how to participate on the freeing process.

Please send links to those howtos so we can promote participation and a 
more active community on free distros' valuable projects. Thank you!
