Patrick, et al;
I'm not totally up on the Consortium works, but yeah, the
jp.opencobol.org is on the same server, and would have had the comment bots pollute that side as well.
See
http://www.opencobol.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1490&forum=1 for some news about the 1.1J version. Eventually, some of that will be folded into 1.1CE (except for things like Yen being the default currency symbol). If I'm not mistaken, 1.1J has Perl and PHP integrations worked out. Again, if I'm not mistaken, 1.1J is the version in used for supporting the Nagasaki Prefecture (lucky boys and girls there get to work OpenCOBOL on a NEC PX9000)
So yes, it's a fork of OpenCOBOL 1.1 and split source tree, more suitable for Asian business use, but as stated, eventually we'll pull and merge some of the changes.
When 2.0 rolls, it has the Japanese .po files included, so it'll ship with English, Spanish and Japanese compiler messages and warnings. Anyone wanting to help out with translations, drop Simon a note on SourceForge.
Cheers,
Brian
