This is presumably a GNU Go extension of the protocol.

Gunnar, Phil Garcia and Bill Shubert have worked on
standardizing the protocol. There is a list set up
for this but the gtp list has been quiet for months.
For a while it was downright rowdy.

Anyway serious discussion of the GTP should cc
the gtp list.
