If we want to support cross-compilation, another idea would be to pass
two compilers (cross-compiler and compiler for the development version)
to configure per command-line option. mkpat, joseki and mkeyes have to be
compiled with the latter; of course, everything else they need (in
sgfutils etc.) would need to get compiled twice.
