What does need investigating is why there was no game record.

The version of twogtp I was using is cvs release 1.6, 12058 bytes.

Arend's patch twogtp_1_28.1 fixed this and was tested. It went in
to release 1.4 of twogtp.

I do have a file newmatch048.sgf for the failed game but it has 0 bytes:
