From what I've read the relative advantages of Mercurial and git are
mostly up to taste and/or religion. But that's not a factor here. As a
GNU project, GNU Go is primarily hosted at savannah.gnu.org and they
have support for git but not Mercurial. They do have support for Arch,
however, but that has never seemed very attractive to me.
