Those aren't related to the xDT browser but rather to
external data sources. They could be made so but GNUmed
doesn't have any idea which of those configurations define
xDT format sources and which don't so they aren't really
usable in a convenient way.

The plugin, however, does default to the (arbitrarily
chosen) ~/gnumed/xDT/ directory.

Those are definitions of external data sources. They bear no
direct relation to xDT browsing (apart from that some of
them also use the xDT format).
