I added, to a patient's medication list
midodrine 5 mg
tablet
0.5 bid 1-1-0-0
only to later find out that the pharmacy did not supply (dispense) what I had
requested. Instead, the pharmacy supplied
midodrine 2.5 mg
however when I went to edit this in GNUmed, despite that I was able to access
the 'Unbranded substance'' field and to access, using the phrasewheel, the
desired substance and strength
midodrine 2.5 mg
tab
1 bid 1-1-0-0
GNUmed 1.3.6 saved the new schedule, but not the edited drug itself, which I am
glad I caught, because it currently reads
midrodrine 5 mg
1 bid 1-1-0-0
which I must now delete (since it is double what the patient is actually
taking), and instead make a new entry.
If it is the intent that the substance cannot be changed, then it must not be
permitted to be edited in the edit dialog. Except ... I can see no reason why
to disallow such change, since the original will, in any event, be captured and
available in the audit table.
