I will have a look at the AMIS specification and their requirements (there
are some types of queries which must be implemented in order to agree with the
AMIS-licence, I was told) this week or the next one. Then I will try to
write some concept how to implement the interface. I would suggest discussing
that concept in order to find a solution that not only is compatible with AMIS
and MIMS but is open to other country-specific drug databases as well.Richard,
I will send you every piece of information before actually implementing one
line of the interface. 
By the way, did anybody think about the use of something like an GUI -
builder (Boa Constructor) or at least creating the python-GUI-code from some 
kind
of definition (e.g. XML) at installation ? There are certainly other parts of
the gnumed -GUI which are country-specific (e.g. prescriptions). In a
(hopefully not so distant future) we might benefit from not having to change the
module source code to implement GUI-changes. I'm not suggesting to do the
switch right now, since the builders I have seen are early alpha versions; I 
just
wanted to know :).
