I bought a book called Compilers : "principles, techniques and tools" a while ago, and started
reading it for a few weeks now. I remembered a kid at a more senior level , who tried
to write his own Fortran compiler on a pdp -11 almost 25 years ago, and now as I approach
40 , I'm just beginning to fathom how smart that 16 year old kid at my school must have been.
Anyway, here's a piece of a puzzle from the "lexical analysis" chapter of that book.
