Measurement result = outcome (of the process / act) of measurement

Test result = outcome of the process of testing

I suppose measurement makes no a priori assumptions about the  
possible result. I suppose testing is by its nature hypothesis or  
purpose-driven (testing things to determine if they are normal or  
abnormal). So I suppose testing is something that is done *upon*  
measurements. And the result of the "test" is determined by  
referencing the measurement(s) against the criteria.

I suppose we are recording:

        - measurements (the values)
        - the criteria (normal ranges, or target ranges), when available
        - any abnormalilty indicator offered by the lab
        - clinician review as to the value's (ab)normalcy and importance
