I just thought of another approach, but do not know its feasibility. I attach a 
composite screenshot which shows

- from the current git tree (in the background): the medications editing window 
"Editing substance intake"
- from the mail list (in the foreground) the proposed relocation of the 
"Discontinued" date object

So now I ask:

When (in the Medications plug-in main screen) the "Delete" button would be 
pressed then, instead of raising a modal question, could the software instead

1) call the same-as "Editing substance intake" window but assign it a different 
window title

        "Editing substance intake" ---rename to----> "Deleting substance"

2) could all fields be made read-only EXCEPT make accessible the "… Reason" 
field

This way, a user who desired could (but need not) enter a reason for 
discontinuation.


or can ignore to do so, all without having to be passed through multiple 
dialogs.
