Maybe I did not fully appreciate the proposed implementation of 'generic'?
Presently, my default country of Canada now displays (when creating new
persons) as
Canadá
and if I try to input
Canada
GNUmed complains that it is invalid.
select * from i18n.translations where orig='Canada' ;
pk | lang | orig | trans
-------+---------+--------+--------
5 | de_DE | Canada | Kanada
26554 | generic | Canada | Canadá
appears to be the origin of this behaviour.
