A "bit reserved" doesn't exactly mean opposed. And as 2.7 support is
running *out*, it don't think it makes sense for a rewrite to target it
unless there is really an issue with Python3 availability (which I don't
see), and it would have to be a severe one as obviously we can live with
some tests not working on some very exotic platforms.

IIRC GSoC rules state 40h/week ("full time") for 3 months.

I also have a special GNS-related topic I'd like to do a Mumble with
you, dvn, Daniel Golle and Martin Schanzenbach some time soon, to see if
we think we can do it.

Oh, sure, there is always lots of variation. However, we should come up
with a plausible timeline that is neither too ambitious nor looks like
you'll be mostly on vacation ;-).  Regardless, let's Mumble --- and
obviously you need to figure out your own availability.
