Problems with certtool, version 1.2.10. Libgnutls 1.2.10

Hi there,

Sorry for bothering you, I didn't find meaningful information about the little 
issue I have using certtool.
 I run a SLES10 (x86) and the command line that I entered was
certtool --generate-self-signed --load-privkey ca-key.pem --outfile ca-cert.pem

(as seen on http://www.linux-ha.org/QuorumServerGuide )
Now the tool keeps telling me

The certificate will expire in (days): 1000
Trailing garbage ignored: `
'
no matter what I enter (using either a GNOME terminal or a remote puTTY 
session).
Can you give me a hint?
