documented that gnutls_hmac_output also resets the MAC, but there is no
corresponding mention of any API change in the NEWS for the next release
(3.1.11). It apparently works in 3.1.10 but not in 2.12.5, and we're
not sure when/if the API was changed.
In what versions of GnuTLS can we rely on this behavior of gnutls_hmac_output?
