Ed W <address@hidden>:I don't have the ability to run tests on GPSd pre-release (at least likely before you release it). However, most of the previous versions, including 3.10 show a problem detecting very low rate AIS input sentencesInteresting. We're not getting this report from Roy Barkas or any of our heavy AIS users other than you. There's a way you can diagnose this. Run at -D 10. This will show you theactual input character by character. If you're getting runs of garbage that cause the packet getter to lose sync, that will be easy to see.
I will try and get a trace - I'm not near the devices for at least a few days.
Do please note my specific repro steps that the device has *nothing* on the input for some many seconds at the start of detection (and quite intermittent sentences thereafter - not 100% sure this isn't the actual issue). I dont think I see a problem if the input rate is quite high (that's my workaround, wait until there is plenty of AIS input and replug)
Thanks Ed W
