Yo Sanjeev!
I do not think there is any 'usually' about it. The skyview repeat rate
is usually configurable and defaults are from off, to every few seconds, to
'variable'. For example Zodiac outputs its message 1003 'on update'.
I agree 5 seconds is closer to average tham 5 minutes, at least in this
decade.
