Subject: [gpsd-users] gpsd decode ignores provided timestamps -- is this intended behavior?

Hi all,

I'm trying to ingest a dataset from disk using 'gpsdecode' and it seems to ignore the timestamps on the data piped into it... (as recorded by gpspipe).

Is anybody aware of the rationale for this?

Example input source line:
2018-03-07 13:50:22: !AIVDM,1,1,,A,address@hidden,0*42

Example Output line (not the lack of a timestamp):
{"class":"AIS","device":"stdin","type":1,"repeat":0,"mmsi":298088050,"scaled":true,"status":0,"status_text":"Under way using engine","turn":0,"speed":0.0,"accuracy":false,"lon":-71.0429,"lat":42.3800,"course":311.0,"heading":94,"second":22,"maneuver":0,"raim":false,"radio":49198}
