Patch applied to git head. Thanks!
If you are interested in the serial behavior of a u-blox then you
will be interested in two new commands added yeasterday to ubxtool.
For u-blox 5 to 9:
# ubxtool -p MON-IO
ubxtool: poll MON-IO
sent:
UBX-MON-IO:
Poll request
UBX-MON-IO:
Port: 0 (DDC)
rxBytes 0 txBytes 0 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
Port: 1 (UART1)
rxBytes 0 txBytes 104171017 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
Port: 2 (UART2)
rxBytes 0 txBytes 0 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
Port: 3 (USB)
rxBytes 182740 txBytes 11767546 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
Port: 4 (SPI)
rxBytes 0 txBytes 0 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
Port: 5 (Reserved)
rxBytes 0 txBytes 0 parityErrs 0 framingErrs 0
overrunErrs 0 breakCond 0 reserved 0
New for u-blox 9:
# ubxtool -p MON-COMMS
ubxtool: poll MON-COMMS
sent:
UBX-MON-COMMS:
Poll request
UBX-MON-COMMS:
version 0 nPorts 4 txErrors 0x0 reserved1 0
protIds 0x0/1/5/ff (UBX/NMEA/RTCM3/None)
Port: 1 (UART1)

The txPeakUsage on USB is interesting. That shows that at
one point since restart the USB port was 39% full and some
messages were "skipped".
Not exactly sure what that means, but it is data that is now
easy to see.
Yes, I note the two Port 1. That is at odds with the u-blox 9
doc.
