Yes, that's a false alarm, it's a -1 that we know will be sign-extended. I'd rather not put in a cast, as casts are too strong.
turkish-eyes: skipped test: your tr_TR.UTF-8 locale appears to be broken That last one is very odd given that I have all locales installed.
I wouldn't worry about it much. Perhaps it is a discrepancy in the Turkish locale rather than a bug in grep.
