[Groff] ms macro: numbering on page 1

Hello:

I'm using the "ms" macros, which do not place the page number on the
first page.  For a particular document, I need to have it there, about
1/2" further to the right.

I've been studying the s.tmac file (groff 1.19) but cannot "fudge it" to
work as I would like.  Has anyone managed to do this - and how?
