This could be another item for the potential `-b' flag: provide a
value for optical compatibility with original `eqn', this is, to use
centered dots.
Given the many user objections I suggest that we revert the default of
`...'; additionally I like the idea of introducing a `cdots'
operator. Eric, can you work on this?
