Is libltdl/configure generated by autoconf 2.13 or 2.50? If the
latter, you should not have a problem. If generated by 2.13,
regenerate with 2.50. 2.50 and later allow passing environment
variables as an option to configure.

guile in cvs (both branches) now includes a buildstamp in
%guile-build-info, plus there is now docs for this on 1.7 branch. (i
would have added docs to 1.5, but i think doc/ref/scheme-options.texi
there needs to have other edits folded in from 1.7 first... not sure.)

in any case, maybe a fresh cvs checkout will help. (please include more
specific build info in the future -- does "1.5" mean "1.5.1" or "1.5.4"
or "1.5 branch from cvs" (and if so, when)?)
