[GWhere-discussion] What format is the catalog file?

Hello,

I'm trying to write a parser for the catalog file using Perl but I
don't know what format the file is.

On a windows machine, I can open the file in notepad and see the
contents. On linux, it does not open (I tried gedit).

I know I can export it to CSV and parse that but it'd be great if I
could do it to the ctg myself. Is it using some sort of embedded db? I
tried SQLite and it wasn't recognized.
