Hi
I've found away of reliably making cfservd coredump.
I have two hosts, let's call them master and slave. I use master to push
out a current hosts file to slave, so I have a file that looks like this
1.2.3.4 master
1.2.3.5 slave
I change the IP of slave to 1.2.3.6 AND I change the hosts file on master
to reflect the change, fully expecting cfengine to push out the new
configuration. The result is cfservd coredumping. I'm sorry I have to
anonymise the error, but please assume that xxxxx is the slave and yyyyy is
the master.

Connecting host identifies itself as 10.4.16.63 xxxxx root 0

FuzzyItemIn(10.4.16.63)
Socket caller address appears honest (10.4.16.63 matches 10.4.16.63)
yyyyy: Socket originates from 10.4.16.63=xxxxx
Attempting to look up hostname (xxxxx)
yyyyy: Unable to lookup xxxxx
yyyyy: getaddrinfo: Undefined error: 0
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
----------------------------------------
To fix this, I need to remove the stale entry from the slave's host file,
restart cfservd then run cfagent on the client (or wait from the cron job.
The hosts file then replicates as normal.
