Hi
First many thanks to all the authors of cfengine, which really made my life
easier since I discovered this help to maintain my home network (2 x86-PCs, 1
PowerMac and 1 PowerBook).
I just spent about two hours to find out why cfrun didn't work between two
hosts. I was sure that the trust relation was okay as the command
sudo cfrun -v k6 -- -h --
returned.
<...>
>cfrun:ob.ngiger.dyndns.org: Strong authentication of
>server=k6.ngiger.dyndns.org connection confirmed
However I did not know why it failed with the following output
>cfrun:ob.ngiger.dyndns.org: Couldn't recv
>cfrun:ob.ngiger.dyndns.org: recv
>Connection with k6.ngiger.dyndns.org completed
The output in /var/log/syslog wasn't very helpfull neither.
After adding the following lines in my cfservd.conf everything went fine:
>control:
>
>cfrunCommand = ( "/usr/sbin/cfagent" ) # I am running a GNU/Debian system
>AllowUsers = ( root )
>
>admit:
>
>/usr *.mydomain.org
I think it might be helpful to add a hint for these requirements to the (very
useful) Tutorial and to the example cfservd.conf.
Best regards
