Subject: | [h-e-w] Ignoring unknown mode `*-mode' |

Hello All.
I am using GNU Emacs
21.2.1 (i386-msvc-nt5.1.2600) of 2002-03-19 on buffy running on XP Pro,
and when opening certain C source, I get the
error (as in the subject line). I am assuming that Emacs is attempting to
auto-detect the which mode to use by the content, instead of the
extension? If that is the case, is it just a warning? Would
something like:
(setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("\\.c$" .
cc-mode) auto-mode-alist))
solve this?
Thanks, Jeff
