Hello,
I am trying to install Emacs 21.3 and I am having problems uncompressing
the archive, I have done that several times before and I can't figure out
what I am doing wrong this time. I have dowloaded the full binary
distribution and the latest version of the required utilities and here is
what I am doing:
$ gunzip-1.2.4-i386 -c emacs.21.3-fullbin-i386.tar.gz | tar-1.11.2a xvf-
c:\Emacs\tar-1.11.2a.exe: f argument missing
c:\Emacs\tar-1.11.2a.exe: Unknown option. Use 'c:\Emacs\tar-1.11.2a.exe
--help' for a complete list of options.
stdout: Broken pipe
stdout: Broken pipe
I have tried this under MSDOS, under BASH and am getting the same error
message. Help greatly appreciated.
