I can't use a circumflex(^) in more than two rules with a ']' cha racter as the first one

Dear Mr. Flex

    First  thank you for letting me use the great software.
    But I have a problem in using a circumflex in more than two rules 
with a ']' character as the first one like this

[^] [\t:]+ {
   return TEXT1 ;
}

address@hidden {
   return TEXT2 ;
}

%%

    I'm using the version 2.5.4 of flex. I compiled it on Windows2000 and
have
been using it on Windows 2000.
