Rules of thumb when asking for help about ANY software problem:

Please tell us:

Your OS
your OS version
your flex version
your C compiler
your C compiler version

and give us COMPLETE, WORKING, RUNNABLE code and test data (and maybe
even a make file) that we can cut&paste and try out immediately.
