Dear Lorenzo and the other that contributed to gengetopt,
i'm writing to thank you for the excellent work you've been doing with gengetopt.
It is simply the best tool for command line parsing that i ever saw.
Just
for doing that you truly deserve the gratitude of many programmers,
including myself. I hope you've had an excellent Christmas, and i wish
you that 2012 be even better than 2011 for you.
If
you don't mind, i'd like to share some ideas with you: i use Python for
some small programs. Some of them are command-line based.
It
would be very nice to have gengetopt to generate its cl parsing. I'm
aware of 3 Python APIs for cl parsing: gengetopt (a thin wrapping over
the gengetopt_long()), optparse and argparse.
The last two are very convenient. But none of them, i assure you, is as easy to use as gengetopt.
What do you think ?
All the best,
Hilton
