Well, I must confirm this is a bug. It is due to the fact, that GIFT decides 
not to re-extract features. However, at some point it seems to expect the 
features to be freshly extracted. This is clearly not what we want.

Currently I am in the process of upgrading my Linux (gotta recompile KDE), so 
the solution will be there tomorrow afternoon earliest.
