distributing over clusters using pipes does function better than using
sockets. (in the clusters i use).
however, even tho i'm clustering this, i think the "stream of URLs" approach
is more appropriate. while PPM has a header structure we can pick up in a
simple enough manner, seperating the .fts files we output might be interesting
batch mode, and pipes seem mutually exclusive, or that if we do impliment it
that way, i think it will get very ugly quickly.
i also think it should be "standard practice" to sed/awk up the URL output of
this program, rather than add 30 command line arguments. ;)
