Hi,
in the overview paper of ImageCLEF (http://www.imageclef.org/) you can see the comparisons between GIFT and many other systems over several years. There are a few better techniques but GIFT is a stable baseline.
GIFT has no invariances in terms of rotation/shift/scale so this might not be the optimal system for these types of images.
Kind regards, Henning

I am interested in the retrieval success rate of GIFT. Is there any
comparison between GIFT and other systems?
My images are taken from mobile phones. These images may have some
differences in direction, lighting etc with the images in the database
to be searched. May I use GIFT for this kind of image retrieval?
Thank you!
