I think hostname resolution is a good guess here. There are many different
possibilities when you try to telnet to GNATS from the GNATS host itself.
Depending on the configuration of your system, the hostname you appear to
come from may resolve as
- localhost
- localhost.localdomain
- hostname
- Fully qualified domain name (e.g. hostname.example.com)
or it may simply not resolve at all, in which case you are coming in either
from 127.0.0.1 or the regular IP address of your server.
Try these, one of them should work.
