Java in Emacs

Hi,

	Emacs 20.7 is installed by default in a Debian Linux distribution (2.2r3) 
but when i try to write java on it, this means saving a file called 
<<something>>.java emacs makes a new menu, but it does not color the key 
words like int, class, etc.
        What do I need to do to get this feature working properly.
