hi,
C-h k calls <f5> 'ESC [ [ E', <up> 'ESC [ A' and <down> 'ESC [ B' and
I cannot bind these keys ([f5], I didn't try "ESC [ [ E") with
global-set-key. The problem goes away if I start with --no-site-file
or run Emacs under X.
This is GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (i386-debian-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)
of 2002-03-22 on raven, modified by Debian
configured using `configure i386-debian-linux-gnu --prefix=/usr
--sharedstatedir=/var/lib --libexecdir=/usr/lib --localstatedir=/var/lib
--infodir=/usr/share/info --mandir=/usr/share/man --with-pop=yes --with-x=yes
--with-x-toolkit=athena --without-gif'

The only elisp debian-packages I installed are gettext-el and elisp.
I also installed automake, autoconf and gettext from source (I might
have installed some more elisp, I don't remember).
in /usr/share/emacs/21.2/site-lisp there is:
cxref
debian-startup.elc
gettext
hyperlatex
php-elisp
subdirs.el
in /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp:
autoconf-mode.el
autoconf-mode.elc
autotest-mode.el
autotest-mode.elc
cxref
debian-startup.el
gettext
hyperlatex
noweb-mode.el
php-elisp
po-compat.el
po-compat.elc
po-mode.el
po-mode.elc
what could cause this ?
thanks,
