Emacs shows an inconsistent update behavior for buffers that are
associated with files.
If ionized it shows a pop-up if a buffer should be reverted if the
associated files changes.
If not ionized it does not show a pop-up and waits till you start
editing the buffer before it informs you that the
associated file has changed.
Is there a way to make the behavior more consistent. e.g. show in
both modi immediately a pop-up?
