NYC LOCAL: Wednesday 21 May 2003 NYLUG: Heow Eide-Goodman on Lisp

In the last LXNY notice dealing with Lisp meetings in New York City the
following appeared:

  And there is a persistent rumor that on Wednesday 21 May 2003, a
  monstrous rough beast, larger and shaggier than any
  focus-group-stultified darling of the mass media, will slouch
  round MidTown New York City.  Some say the Beast has business
  with IBM.

This rumor has been confirmed.  NYLUG will meet Wednesday 21 May 2003 in
the IBM building at 57th Street and Madison Avenue and Heow Eide-Goodman will
speak on Lisp.

You must register in advance to attend, or have registered for an earlier
NYLUG meeting in the IBM building.  Particulars below in official
announcement.  Due to the power and delicacy of the subject matter of this
meeting all security rules will be strictly enforced.  Those who have never
written any Lisp are advised to study one of the standard texts.  A firm
grasp of s-expressions and some acquaintance with the lambda calculus will
help avoid embarrassment.

About Heow Eide-Goodman:

   After earning a Computer Science degree from Bowling Green State
   University, Heow has spent the last decade as a consultant, developing
   software. ``Only lately has he realized that life is too short to be
   spent on relatively low level languages like C.''

   He is author of a Unix utility Long Live XTerm, Tiny Scheme for the
