problem in cygwin-mount hooks

hi there
on nt-emacs 21.3.1 i try to use cygwin-mount.el 1.4.6.
unfortunalty with activated cygwin-mount-package i get the error "or: Wrong
type argument: stringp, nil" on the command "shell".
anyone an idea what that causes?
or how can i track down the code line where the error occurs? iguess, it
somehow happens in the shell hooks.
